Jon Van Leer, Principal Partner of Farrier Rose and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, has worked in private wealth management since 1990. After early roles with Barclays Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank, he became a Founder Partner of the J. Rothschild Partnership—now St. James's Place—and formally joined the company in 1993.
Over more than three decades, Jon has helped shape both the Partnership and the Practice. In recognition of his longstanding contribution and standards of excellence, St. James's Place appointed Farrier Rose as a Principal Partner Practice in 2021—an honour held by fewer than 50 of the 3,000 firms within the Partnership.
Jon is a Chartered Financial Planner and, following further advanced qualifications, became a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society in 2023—the highest individual accreditation in the profession. He advises a select number of families on complex, multi-generational wealth planning, known for a personal, meticulous approach and relationships that span decades. He is also recognised as a Recommended HNW Adviser in the Spear’s 500 Index for 2025.
Farrier Rose exists to provide comprehensive, relationship-led financial planning for individuals, families and entrepreneurs. Under Jon’s leadership, the Practice is built on expertise, integrity and a genuine commitment to clients’ long-term wellbeing.
Jon says:
“My aim is to provide a highly professional service with a caring approach that always puts the interests of my clients first. Our clients are the most important part of our business, and our future success depends on how well we advise you and help you plan for the future.”
